Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits Review 13.6.2016

After months of failed attempts, I finally managed to secure my first order of kylie lip kits (All x3 glosses, 1x Metal and x3 of the matte kits). I found the ordering process very easy, with great communication from the company confirming order and updating re: shipping. I had the lip kits shipped to New Zealand and I received them in just over a week.

Heir (metallic)

Light mousse formula is very comfortable on the lips and long wearing. Beautiful peachy pinky nude colour - my favourite way to wear this is on its own with no liner.

Koko K (Matte)

My favourite shade - this is a light pink nude. Very flattering on my pale skin. I had read that Kat Von D Melancholia was a dupe, however I also own that shade and it is much brighter (white base instead of KoKo K's light brown/nude base) . The formula on this (and all the matte shades) is outstanding - easy to apply/long wearing/doesn't crumble or wear off unevenly . The liner that is included in the kit is very pigmented and creamy - its my preference not to use liner with liquid lipsticks, however I will get a lot of use from it under other formulas (such a gloss)

Candy K (Matte)

Medium pink nude with a strong brown undertone. Some might describe this as a rosy brown colour, but it definitely pulls more as pink on my light skin tone. Very flattering shade and different to any other pink/mauve/brown shades I own.  I don't use the  lip liner with the lipstick, however it is a really lovely creamy liner and I would wear it under gloss. Very pigmented formula and extremely long wearing without being drying at all. I have been really enjoy wearing this one to work, and I think I will get the most use out of Candy K.

Exposed (Matte)

On my light nc20/25 skin tone this dried much darker than I expected - to a medium camel (yellow brown) colour. Very different to any of the other nude lipsticks in my collection and whilst not my favourite shade, a welcome addition. Again I don't use the lip liner with Exposed.

Like (Gloss)

Medium-deep chocolate brown, very flattering and opaque. I like to use a lip liner with this one and just use a small amount of product. Very long wear time for a gloss

Literally (Gloss)

Medium milk chocolate coloured nude, I can see this colour being the most popular as its very easy to apply flawlessly and wear.  I don't usually use a liner with this and just apply straight from the tube and go.

So Cute (Gloss)

Very pale nude - my favourite way to wear this is by dabbing a tiny amount in the centre of my lips after applying lipstick to give an ombre, full lip look. Extremely pigmented and long wear time.

Available exclusively from

Matte Kits: 29USD

Metals: 18USD

Glosses: 15USD

In summary I enjoy all the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit products. The formulas are all exceptional and I find the colours to be unique and flattering. The ordering and shipping process was exceptional. The only possible  negative  that I can say I found is that they are very hard to get your hands on - I would suggest following Kylie Jenner on one of her various social media sites to find out when the next release will be.
